Compostable Dog Waste Bags
According to recent estimates, there are approximately 5.1 million dogs in Australia. If each dog is walked once a day and their owner picks up after them using a plastic poo bag, this amounts to 1.86 billion bags per year in Australia alone. However, using regular plastic poo bags that take hundreds of years to decompose or degradable bags that leave behind harmful micro-plastics does not make sense for disposing of dog waste. Instead, consider using compostable BioBags dog poo bags that can be composted along with the dog waste, and will break down harmlessly in your home garden.
Bio Bag dog waste bags are made with compostable material (certified compostable AS4736) making them eco-friendly and convenient for picking up after your pet.

What are Bio Bags Made From?
Bio Bag dog poo bags are manufactured in Australia using a compostable resin derived from plants (non-GMO corn starch), vegetable oils and compostable polymers called Mater-Bi® from Novamont, an Italian research company committed to providing eco-friendly options to traditional polyethylene-based plastics.
BioBag dog poo bags are made from 100% certified compostable materials. They effectively divert organic waste from landfills, allowing it to be recycled into nutrient-rich compost that can nourish and enhance our soil quality.
Dog Waste Bag Dimensions:
- Each bag measures 305mm x 365mm
- 300 bags per roll
How to Compost Dog Poo at Home:
Dog waste can be used to nourish soil, but it cannot be added to household compost with food scraps. This is due to potential health risks when using it on gardens, particularly for growing food. Certain local councils that have FOGO bins are willing to accept pet waste in compostable BioBags to maintain clean and odour-free bins. If you do not have access to a FOGO bin, your dog's waste can still be composted at home, but it should not be added to your typical household worm farm or compost bin.
An Ensopet Pet Waste Composting Systemis a way of separately composting your pet waste and recycling it into nutrient rich soil. You simply dig the unit in your garden where you want to improve the soil and add the Ensopet Bran which is composed of sawdust and special microbes to help speed up the composting process and remediate any odours and pathogens that may be present.
Bio Bag Compostable Bin Liners are also available in the following sizes:
8L, 30L, 50L & 240L.
