CeraTrap® is a highly effective liquid food based trapping system to assist in managing fruit fly populations. It is organic and contains no pesticides. The volatile compounds emitted by the trap are highly attractive to adult fruit flies with little attractiveness to beneficial insects.
CeraTrap® is a specific bait for capturing Mediterranean Fruit Fly (Ceratitis capitata) along with other species. Each trap can be refilled with the 1L or 5L refill containers.
The evaporation of CeraTrap® releases a series of volatile compounds, mostly amines and organic acids which attract the adult flies, especially females.
Cera Trap Liquid should be added directly to fruit fly traps. NO dilution of Cera Trap Liquid is required.
Place traps on the northern side of the tree at a height of approximately 1.5 meters from the ground and within the tree canopy. Traps should be installed 45-60 days prior to fruit reaching commercial ripeness. Later installation may reduce effectiveness.
For maximum effectiveness, traps should be left in trees year round and refilled as required. Use a higher number of traps in crops that are more sensitive to fruit fly.
Attach Cera Trap to a branch in the tree with wire or a cable tie. Avoid spilling any liquid on the outside of the bottle as this will attract the fruit flies to this area and they may not enter the trap.
The main fruit crops affected by Ceratitis capitata are; orange, mandarin, lemon, grapefruit, peach, apricot, medlar, nectarine, cherry, plum, avocado, blueberry, fig, kaki, cherimoya, strawberry, pomegranate, kiwi, mango, apple, pear, quince, pineapple, banana, etc.
Hydrolysed proteins 5.5% p/p (59 g/l).

I have only been using for a few weeks now but I can already see how effective this is in controlling fruit flies! My Orchard stands more of a chance this season I think :)
