Lucerne Hay is rich in minerals and has a higher nutritional value than cereal straws. It is a rich, nutritious source of roughage for herbivores and foragers. Like oaten hay it can be used to refresh pet bedding and:
- It will enrich the yellow colour of eggs.
- It is readily biodegradable which mulches down to add organic matter to your soil in pots, the veggie patch and garden beds.
- It is a great mulch and encourages microbial and earthworm activity.
- It is a good source of protein (13-20%), vitamins A, K and E, riboflavin, pantothenic and nicotinic acid, all of which are important for growth.
These 'BABY' sized hay bales are a minimum of 2kg when bales (approx. 20L). They are all grown, produced and packaged on farms in the Avon Valley.
