This hay is rich in minerals and has a higher nutritional value than cereal straws.  It is a rich, nutritious source of roughage for herbivores and foragers. Like oaten hay it can be used to refresh pet bedding and:

Lucerne Hay Uses:

  • It will enrich the yellow colour of eggs.
  • It is readily biodegradable which mulches down to add organic matter to your soil in pots, the veggie patch and garden beds.
  • It is a nutrient dense mulch and encourages microbial and earthworm activity.
  • It is a good source of protein (13-20%), vitamins A, K and E, riboflavin, pantothenic and nicotinic acid, all of which are important for growth.

These 'BABY' sized hay bales are a minimum of 2kg when baled (approx. 20L). 

They are all grown, produced and packaged on farms in the Avon Valley.

Is this Lucerne Hay Spray Free?

This produce is not certified organic or explicitly spray free. However, our farmer's growing conditions are strictly monitored in Western Australia – to ensure minimal chemical applications. They use the soil, the seasons and the type of hay seed that best suits our conditions to grow the different crops in the best way. The crops are non-GM: The seed can be bought and sold between farmers and the seed is not licensed and owned by international chemical companies. Government regulations of exported crop products is strict to ensure that WA's reputation for quality produce remains respected the world over.
