Best Tips for Planting Flower Seeds:

  • Can be sown anytime, but ideal season is autumn and spring. We will pick seeds that are seasonally appropriate when you order.
  • Plant in well-drained, loamy soil. If you have sandy or poor quality soil, add some mature compost before planting.
  • Plant in full to partial sun.
  • Direct sow into the ground or raised garden beds. Place carefully where you want them or have fun and scatter around.
  • Keep soil moist, especially in dryer climates.

Where to Plant your Flower Seeds:

  • Directly in the ground or raised garden beds. Alternatively, you can start the seeds out in a seedling tray or Fertil pots before transplanting into your garden (good idea if the weather is a bit too hot or cold).
  • Alongside your vegetables and herbs - many of these flowers make wonderful companions in the garden!
  • In pots and containers. You can even grow them on a sunny window sill if you are short on space. Just make sure the container has good drainage and fill with good quality potting mix.

** Keep in mind, some flowers can be notorious for taking over a garden bed – if this is a worry, grow in a pot or grow bag. **
