Onya reusable produce bags are an easy replacement for single use plastic fruit and vegetable bags in the supermarket or green grocer. Onya produce bags are made from recycled plastic drink bottles.
In our strange, new and uncertain world of coronavirus/COVID 19, these mesh bags can also be used to hold your groceries during the whole shopping process, hopefully reducing the chance of bringing contamination into your home.
Onya bags are lightweight, strong mesh bags and can hold up to 2 kilos of produce and feature a gusset and draw-sting tie.
Weighing in at only 10 grams per bag, these reusable produce bags barely register on a scale and the see through mesh bags allow shop assistants to know exactly what is inside your produce bag at a glance.
Traditional single use plastic bags can also cause ‘sweating’ making the life cycle of your fresh produce much shorter. The open nature of the mesh bags allows your produce to ‘breathe’ which gives it a longer life.
When shopping at the supermarket these days, add fresh produce or even (appropriately) packaged grocery items (up to 2.2kg weight) to an Onya Produce Bag, wash the items while in the bag when you return to your home, remove them from the bag to dry, then wash the bag itself using your usual cool water washing cycle. While we can't promise that this will prevent coronavirus from entering your home, we do SO believe this method will help you to keep your family safe.
How to Use
Available in either a 5 or an 8 pack, Onya produce bags stuff down into a brightly coloured pouch the size of your fist when not in use and can attach to a belt or bag by way of its strong carabiner clip.
The bags can be washed simply with a cool water handwash when the need arises, or they can be put on a cool gentle cycle in the washing machine.
Incredibly versatile, these reusable produce bags have been used for many uses including exclusion bags for fruit trees, colanders to wash fresh leafy greens and even fly nets.
The packaging is made from post-consumer recycled material and printed with water based inks so it is suitable for both recycling or composting!
