Medium Insect Hotel

Why do I need an Insect Hotel?

An insect hotel is a safe habitat for solitary bees, butterflies, ladybirds and other beneficial insects which will improve biodiversity and integrated pest management in a garden. Watch as the insect hotel becomes a safe haven for beneficial creatures and bugs.

How do I know if my Insect Hotel is being used?

Bees will lay their eggs in the bamboo tubes and fill them with food to ensure the next generation has what they need after hatching.

Predatory wasps will stuff the tubes full of greenfly larva, aphids and caterpillars to feed their emerging young.

Each insect will contribute to a healthier and more dynamic ecosystem in your garden.

How do I set up my Bug Hotel?

For detailed information on insect hotel placement, water and food requirements see our Native Bees – Most Welcome Visitors to the Garden and Growing a Bee Friendly Gardenarticles.
